Administrators & Teachers:
CharACTers Theatrics will be presenting four incredible shows just for schools during the 2016-2017 school year! All performances will be held at Wallace Hall Fine Arts Center at Gadsden State.
Education is our mission!
Each performance features a study guide that can help prepare students before they board the bus as well as help them retain knowledge back in the classroom. Behind the Scenes Tours are also available throughout the year.
Did you know?
Did you know that According to Champions of Change: The Impact of the Arts on Learning (1999) found that students who were exposed to music and theatre showed greater success in math and reading! Theatre also helps to level the playing field for disadvantaged students from low social economic backgrounds. These students are more likely to earn a college degree, find a better job, and to volunteer in their communities! Don't take our word for it - Look it up yourself at www.americansforthearts.org.

Oliver!
Friday, May 5 at 9:00 PM
Recommended for: K - 12th Grade
Advance Students & Chaperones: $6.00
Teachers & Bus Drivers: Free
Consider yourself at home with Lionel Bart's classic musical based on Charles Dickens' novel, Oliver Twist. The Tony and Olivier Award-winning show is one of the few musicals to win an Academy Award for Best Picture and is widely hailed as a true theatrical masterpiece by actors and audience members alike.
The streets of Victorian England come to life as Oliver, a malnourished orphan in a workhouse, becomes the neglected apprentice of an undertaker. Oliver escapes to London and finds acceptance amongst a group of petty thieves and pickpockets led by the elderly Fagin. When Oliver is captured for a theft he did not commit, the benevolent victim, Mr. Brownlow takes him in. Fearing the safety of his hideout, Fagin employs the sinister Bill Sikes and the sympathetic Nancy to kidnap him back, threatening Oliver’s chances of discovering the true love of a family.
